The Wall Street Journal Names Trenton Doyle Hancock’s “Skin & Bones” Among Best Art of 2014

In her recent wrap-up of 2014, Karen Wilkins, reviewer for The Wall Street Journal, names Trenton Doyle Hancock in her “Best Art of 2014” list.

Wilkins states that ““Trenton Doyle Hancock: Skin and Bones, 20 Years of Drawing,” at the Contemporary Arts Museum Houston, was the year’s happy surprise for me. I knew little of Mr. Hancock’s eerie, sometimes hilarious, sometimes frightening private mythology before seeing the show, but I emerged completely convinced by this brilliant draftsman’s obsessively detailed, invented worlds.”

Read the full year-in-review feature, and learn more about Hancock’s recent commission, facilitated by WAG, for the Hermann Park Train Tunnel which coincided with the opening of “Skin & Bones.”
