Legacy Community Health is proud to present “Healing Hands”, a vibrant mixed media mural with mosaics by acclaimed Houston artist Reginald Adams. The mural, spanning the exterior of the building, embodies themes of healing and wellness, exemplifying the services provided by Legacy Community Health.

The mandalas in the seven larger-than-life handprints symbolize the colors of the Chakra: Red for the Root Chakra, Orange for the Sacral Chakra, Yellow for the Solar Plexus Chakra, Green for the Heart Chakra, Blue for the Throat Chakra, Indigo for the Third Eye Chakra, and Violet for the Crown Chakra. The chakras are associated with attributes of physical, emotional, and spiritual wellness and represent Legacy Community Health’s role in the community it serves. The mural also welcomes visitors with a colorful expression of the Fifth Ward’s character and diversity. During production of the mural, Adams engaged volunteers to bring the artwork to life by creating their own unique handprints that can be seen as tiles throughout the mural.

Adams is a public artist and community developer. He is best known for his award- winning tile mosaic murals and art installations located in some of Houston’s most historic neighborhoods. Adams believes that everyone deserves access to the arts and strives to engage the public in the design and production of his public art projects.
