Miami Art Week Day 4: Art Basel Public Art
On our final day of Miami Art Week, WAG took a stroll through Art Basel Miami Beach’s public art installations. “Public” is an outdoor sculpture garden, situation in Collins Park, featuring 26 public art works curated by Nicholas Baume of New York’s Public Art Fund. In this second iteration of “Public,” the programming also included performance art and roving works. The 26 artworks that comprise “Public” will be on view at Collins Park through March 2015.
As ArtNet.com’s Sarah Cascone noted “Public’s 2014 theme, Field Work, gets artists out of their studios and away from the white cube of the museum or gallery.” Baume went on further to explain “it’s about taking all that fury you had and seeing how it works in public.”
Take a peek below at some of WAGs favorites.
