The idealized flora of Kalee Appleton’s work investigates the complicated relationship between society and the natural landscape. Through photography, Uncharted Paths invites the tenants and visitors of CityCentre to engage with the nature and material of their surroundings. By controlling and restricting the physical frame to a gesture reminiscent of a photoshop post-production brush stroke, the digitally manipulated imagery of these pieces exist somewhere between a flat 2D photograph and a 3D object.

Curated and managed by Weingarten Art Group, this is the sixth iteration of the ongoing rotating art program at CityCentre which highlights local and regional Texas artists across a diverse array of media.
