With an artistic career spanning more than 40 years, James Drake has explored political, social and universal themes through the media of sculpture, video, installation, photography and drawing. Drake deploys a consistent vocabulary of images relating to art history, weaponry and the fine line between savagery and civilization, and life in the densely populated bilingual Juarez-El Paso border.

Curated and managed by Weingarten Art Group, this is the sixth iteration of the ongoing rotating art program at CityCentre which highlights local and regional Texas artists across a diverse array of media.
