Candlewood Ln.

Wisconsin-based artist Jennifer Angus transformed this Houston dining room into an immersive Victorian-inspired environment made entirely out of taxidermied insects. The insects are arranged in ornamental spiraling designs over custom wallpaper made by the artist. The insects, collected from Southeast Asia, alter not only the setting but are themselves transformed in the artist’s design. Angus most notably was one of nine artists commissioned to create room-sized installations for the inaugural exhibition of the Smithsonian American Art Museum’s Renwick Gallery.
