Houston Chronicle: Life-size ‘House of Cards’ exhibit to debut at Discovery Green during drive-thru carnival
Houston Chronicle reporter Rebecca Hennes features the latest Weingarten Art Group public art project House of Cards by OGE Group arriving at Discovery Green this Fall. Designs from 20 local artists will be displayed on the faces of life-size playing cards and is a public art experience that can be enjoyed from the safety of your car. Originally set to open in the Spring, the first chance to see House of Cards will be at the sold-out CAR-nival set for 6:30 p.m. August 27th.

Discovery Green’s long-awaited “House of Cards” exhibit will finally debut this August during a drive-thru carnival featuring performers, music, and live models that Houstonians can experience from the safety of their cars.
The exhibit, which features life-size playing cards that display works from 20 local artists and is illuminated by choreographed lights, was originally set to open in the spring before the coronavirus pandemic broke out in Texas. Variations of the exhibit have been displayed in cities across the globe and come August, Houston will be the next city to host the installation.
