Commerce traded on all price levels at this year’s international contemporary art extravaganza, Art Basel, in Switzerland. Splashy eight-figure art sales launched the first VIP day, and a very gratifying secondary market rounded out the fair.

Savvy dealers profited from showcasing quality collections from artists both emerging and erstwhile. Artists enjoying fresh publicity from recent museum exhibitions attracted collectors with appetites for more, while other collections featured worthy artists resurrected from obscurity.
